This document provides instructions for an evidence-based practice presentation assignment. Students are asked to: 1) Identify an advanced nursing practice issue or problem of concern. 2) Develop a research question using the PICOT format to define the population, intervention, comparison, outcomes, and timeframe. 3) Include a brief literature review of at least three scholarly sources on best practices relating to the topic. 4) Propose a Plan-Do-Study-Act process for investigating the issue. 5) Discuss any implications for nursing practice. The presentation will be evaluated based on appropriate topic identification, well-built research question, literature review details, study design description, and discussion of significance to nursing

computer’s spell-checker and grammar-checker; failure to do so indicates a lack of effort on

increased kerning (space between letters), and any other such attempts at “padding” to
increase the length of a paper are unacceptable, wasteful of trees, and will not fool your

the top, bottom, and sides of each page. When submitting hard copy, be sure to use white
paper and print out using dark ink. If it is hard to read your essay, it will also be hard to
follow your argument.
