The Process
The general process that The New ABC offers to support you in (re)discovering your
curiosity, together with critical thinking and creativity, consists of 4 steps:
1. Identify your current state
2. Discuss your ambition
3. Determine the gap
4. Decide how to fill this gap, using the methods that I have at my disposal.
That last step represents the real journey you will make and the more effort you put in the
more it resembles the shape of a W: Awareness (top left), Consciously Unable (first bottom),
Learning with Ups-and-downs (up, down, up), Unconsciously Able (top right).
The details can vary and will together determine your journey that reflectss the principles
of Inquiring, Wondering and Moving forward. It will consist of (components of) the menu
as listed below, selected and designed to fit the journey that we decide upon.
Note: the version for teachers and educational institutes will differ slightly from this and
includes mroe attention for developing facilitative skills, i.e., how do you empower others, i.c.
students.

1. Get Inspired
Introduction - Curiosity 101
Introduction presentation and workshop on the interaction between Critical Thinking,
Curiosity and Creativity, in principle including a part on Asking Questions (problem
formulation). A separate presentation is possible but not preferred.
2. Get Started
A combination of the following activities, most likely several times, with different cases.
Sparring - Bounce Around, with a mission
Take the next step by working with the actual problem you are experiencing. We will together
use it as a case to apply the lessons from the first step, and continue to develop the
integrated skill set that you are looking for.
Jazz improv inspired brainstorming
To spice it up, we can continue with a session that you might put in the category of
brainstorming, only more fun and with more surprising results.
3. Get better
Innovation training - Embracing Complexity "in a Box"
Once we got this covered we can move to the next level and learn how to accept, embrace
and work with complexity and dance with uncertainty. This usually requires 3 connected
sessions with homework in between.
Innovation training - ABC as core skill development
The above are all useful and relevant components. We can also go for a fully tailored
process focused on longer term skill development.
