2. Introduction
• Society relies on computer-controlled devices, with a surge in mobile phone usage
for remote control.
• Project objective: Achieve network control and monitoring via mobile phones from
any location.
• Example scenario: Checking LAN status remotely using a mobile device.
• Emphasis on the widespread use of wireless devices in daily life.
• Project's cost-effective nature aims to enhance network security in the absence of
the administrator.
3. Proposed System
• Offers valuable wireless connection.
• There is no need of GSM modem in our application
so it is cost effective.
• The area of covered services is more than current
system.
• It requires lesser time to establish data connection
than current system.
4. SYSTEM OBJECTIVES
• NetView:
• Access the entire list of clients in the LAN on your cell phone.
• Continuous pinging for real-time PC status updates; removes offline PCs from
the list.
• Process List:
• Retrieve a list of all processes running on the remote machine.
• Read:
• Read drives, folders, and files on any client or server machine directly from your
cell phone.
• Open File:
• Open a small text file on any client or server machine using your cell phone.
5. • Broadcast Messages:
• Send broadcast messages to clients and the server from your cell phone.
• New File:
• Create a new document on your cell phone and save it on either the server or client
machine.
• Activate Process:
• Activate different processes on either the server machine or any client.
• Kill Process:
• Terminate desired processes on either the server or clients.
• Shut Down:
• Remotely shut down client machines using your mobile device.
6. INTERFACES
• 5.1 Hardware Interface
• Supports mobile devices (smartphones and LAN networks).
• Enables transparent connections with external hard drives for automatic
archiving.
• 5.2 Software Interface
• Compatible with Android 2.1 and above.
• Integrates with third-party services through web application APIs (e.g.,
HTML5).
7. Flow of the Application
• Welcome screen shows app name/logo.
• Control LAN:AT commands or menu-driven.
• File transfer: Client request, admin approval, server
sends.
• Unauthorized access:Admin shuts down client's
machine.
• Operations: Net view, kill process, file transfer,
process view, message broadcast.
• SQLite Database for secure client and admin data
storage.
• Visual flow diagram provided.
8. APPLICATIONS OF PROPOSED SYSTEM
• University/College Level:
• Monitor and log network packets.
• Ensure network integrity and confidentiality.
• Office Level:
• Remote LAN monitoring by administrators.
• Independence from third-party information.
• Malls:
• Remote monitoring of mall information.
• Administrators oversee details from anywhere.
9. Conclusion
• Implement Mobile-Based LAN Monitoring and Control.
• Enables easy interaction with LAN using cell phones.
• Valuable for administrators in colleges and companies.
• Communication through standardWAP protocol.
