establishments to prevent an outbreak of food
infection or poisoning
o Food inspections must take place at locations in
the flood zone and in the buffer zones of
vulnerable populations

Planning, US Census Bureau TIGER, Allegheny
County Health Department.
o Includes Pittsburgh
buildings, neighborhoods, sidewalks, flood
zone, and street center lines
o Study focus on bakeries, restaurants, grocery
stores, and convenient stores
Methodology
o Geocode Pghfoodsources to create food
establishment layers
o Intersect flood zone layer with each food
establishment layer
o Intersect buffer layers with block centroids
Results
Total Population Age Under5 Age 65 and over
