U nderstated luxury. That was the look owners Kate and
Simon craved for this bathroom in their newly bought
two-bedroom semi. “The house was completely liveable
apart from the bathroom, which was small, basic and really run
down,” explains Kate. As it was the only bathroom in the house,
living through a reno wasn’t an option, so the couple chose to
overhaul the space before they moved in. With no renovating
experience and a tight schedule, the couple sought help from
interior designer Victoria Waters. Formerly a smaller area with an
angled entrance, the bathroom was squared off to make it larger
and its two small windows replaced with one large frosted one.
2. SPACE-SAVVY VANITY
A Decina ‘Carina’ Bath was positioned under the window, leaving
room for a large vanity. “I wanted it to be as big as possible and to
have plenty of bench space,” says Kate. Built by Mark’s Cabinet
Making, the vanity has a basin set to one side while the CaesarStone
benchtop in Nougat gives a luxurious finish. The mirror, the exact
width of the vanity, is set flush with the tiles for a streamlined effect.
DAY SPA INDULGENCE
Kate’s favourite item in her new bathroom is the shower, with
its rain showerhead forming a spa-like experience. The room was
finished on time and within budget so the couple could move in
and enjoy their new home. “Victoria was worth her weight in gold,”
says Kate. “We couldn’t have done it without her.”
