Community Convergent Action is a community owned, community lead initiative. It is a network of volunteers, volunteering organisations and NGOs for the betterment and support of people and residential communities. It is organised into self managed committees with 2 representatives, 1 M &1 F for every 35 to 40 households.
2. Introduction
• Under the leadership of Thiru. T. Mano Thangaraj, Honourable Minister,
Information Technology, Govt. of Tamil Nadu and In-charge for COVID Care in
Kanyakumari District, a detailed discussion took place with general public and
Voluntary Organizations.
• It was decided to converge all efforts of the Government with the Voluntary
Sector on a mission mode as done during the Total Literacy Campaign.
• Voluntary Organizations will provide Volunteers at the grass root level starting
from Panchayat Wards.
• Convergence at various levels.
• NGOs oversee the activities
• At the grassroots, everyone is volunteering for a Common Cause.
• Thiru. M G Devasahayam IAS (Retd.) is also giving guidance.

Fight against Covid19 aiming at
• Prevention of infections in the current (second) wave
• Getting prepared with mitigation plans and field structure for any future emergencies
Developing a model for Government – People collaboration for the
development of the District
• Collaborative efforts of NGOs, VOs and Volunteers with grassroots leadership and
initiatives from the community
• Volunteers from the community understand and engage with people better through
grassroot level, need based efforts - Specific issues also can be easily addressed

4. Outline of the Engagement
• Purpose: Convergence of all efforts of the Government with the Voluntary Sector
on a mission mode
• Convergence aiming at complimenting the efforts avoiding duplication
• Voluntary Organizations will provide volunteers at the grass root - Panchayat
Wards.
• Convergence at various levels – Panchayat, Block and District
• Each Stake holder in the platform have specific roles – Government to drive and
CCA to partner and make interventions effective thereby enhance results.
• Panchayat and Block Committee to monitor field activities and provide
coordination
• District level committee will monitor, evaluate and make course corrections as
and when necessary – NGOs will provide feedback and support with strategic
inputs including knowledge and technical inputs
