FINAL YEAR PROJECT
CASCADED MULTILEVEL INVERTER BASED DYNAMIC VOLTAGE
RESTORER
To compensate the voltage sag and voltage swell, and maintain the Quality of Power.
Description : The voltage sag and swell are very severe problem in
industries. Voltage sag/surge can simply be defined as a sudden increase/decrease in
the rms voltage with duration of half a cycle to few cycles. Voltage sag and swell can
cause sensitive equipment to fail, shutdown and create a large current unbalance.
These effects can incur a lot of expensive and cause equipment damage.
Voltage Sag is mainly due to starting of large rating Induction motors, line fault, etc.
Voltage Swell is mainly due to switching off a Capacitor Banking, line fault, etc. To
compensate the Voltage Sag/Swell this project, “Cascaded Multilevel Inverter
Based Dynamic Voltage Restorer” is used. In this project Multi Level Inverter is
used to produce the pure sinusoidal waveform. Dynamic Voltage Restorer is used to
inject/adjust the voltage depending upon the Voltage Sag/Swell.
Finally the Output Power will be constant with Quality.
