I have known Ms. Loncar for the past five years as our Language Arts/Science Elementary Coordinator for the Riverside Local School District. I am aware of the great importance of selecting the right person to help guide the success of any building based on educational leadership and performance; therefore I do not offer references lightly. <br />Vickie Loncar joined the Riverside Local School District five years ago as the Language Arts/Science Elementary Coordinator for all six of our elementary buildings. Since joining our District five years ago, Vickie has been successful in securing over $35,000 in grant funding and implementing a Tier III reading program for student in grades 3-12. Vickie developed and implemented an after school Extreme Team targeting our fourth and fifth grade at risk students in reading and math along with designing and implementing our BOOST program focusing on additional intervention for our kindergarten students below benchmark in early literacy and math skills. Vickie is constantly helping our building administrators and teachers in benchmarking and progress monitoring student reading abilities and has accelerated the District’s use of technology through the acquisition and delivery of individualized reading programs and the integration of response systems into the science curriculum. Vickie is also a participating member of our District Leadership Team (Ohio Improvement Process) and has played a critical role in helping the Building Leadership Teams begin their analysis and development of their building level systems. As if this was not enough, Vickie knows the importance of reaching out to the community and developing parental outreach programs such as our Family Math/Science Nights and community reading nights conducted in all of our buildings throughout the District.<br />Ms. Vickie Loncar is a visionary educator that would certainly be an asset to any school district and would prove to be a great leader and productive member of the community. Vickie is known for her passion, flexibility and excellent rapport with others and her knowledge of curriculum development and needs place her above the rest.
