1. What makes you an agent of change?
Give an example and visually represent your “change” personality.
If I want to be an agent of change,I need to meet some conditions.One of the most important conditions which make
me agent of change is Plain vision. It is necessary to mention that a clear vision does not explain that there is only one
way to do things; actually, it is necessary to manage the strengths ofthe people you work with and assist them to see
if there are still many ways to work toward a common goal. For instance, there are many ways to increase your
capabilities in finding a gap among literatures to write a paper. There are many ways for me to find a gap among
literatures, reading related journal papers is one way to find a new topic, keep communicating with authors is another
way to find a topic to write a paper.
The next condition is related to the fact that how much patient you are. Desirable change usually does not take time
one night and most people know this fact. To have sustainable change that is understandable to people, it is like
that they will have to accept and understand importance. Most people need to experience something before they really
see that,and that is specifically right in schools.For instance,as a researcher I have to be patient when I see reviewers
have many comments and concerns on my submitted paper. I need to focus on details and try to fix errors based on
reviewer comments and concerns.
The third condition which should be satisfied is related to the key questions asked. I need to be a good questioner
based on key questions which assist me to get the final goal. If my final goal is to publish a journal paper then I need
to design some key questions which are needed to approach my goal. As an instance, my key question is “Does my
paper meet all criteria to be published in journal”? or anotherquestion “my contribution is enough new and novel to
be published as journal paper?”
The fourth condition is about your knowledge. How much are you wise to reach your final goal? We back to the
example of my goal. For instance,I should understand whetherIamenough wise to write a paperwith title “Mitigating
supply chain disruptions of risk and optimizations methods”. Based on questions designed in previous step,I will be
able to define required skills to write this paper. Therefore, in this step I need to know whether I have enough
knowledge to write such paper.
The last condition is about building relationship with others based on mutual trust.Without any good relationship with
others, it is almost impossible to get the final goal. For instance, if I have not relationship with other scholars and
researchers, my skills will not be improved. A good relationship with faculties, scholars and people in industries
through LinkDn, Facebook and other communities help me out to improve my skills, knowledge and connections.
Therefore, connection with people based on mutual trust provide people to develop their capabilities and efficiencies.
According to the example I explained, personality I need to be creative, patient, questioner, wise and finally trustful
in relationship to get my target.
