Bauman Moscow State Technical University is a public technical university located in Moscow, Russia that was founded in 1763 by Catherine the Great. It is the first technical university in Russia and provides training in over 70 specialties to its over 18,000 students. The university was originally named the Imperial Moscow Technical School and was later renamed to honor Nikolay Bauman, a famous Russian revolutionary who was killed near the university.
