2. On New Year's Eve,
December 31, 2011. Tia
vanished from her home in
Meherrin, VA.
Tia is a service dog to
her owner, a veteran from
Desert Storm.
3. Her owner, Karren Cooper,
suffered a brain injury
during the war, her dog Tia
alerts her when a seizure
is coming. She reminds
Karren to slowdown, take
notice and take her
medicines.
4. On New Year's Eve, Tia heard
hunters near her property
line and she took off to
explore the area.
Kareen believes that Tia ran
off after she gave chase on
their hunting dogs.
.."Tia always comes back”
5. But on this day something happened to Tia,
Something went wrong…
Tia never came home.
6. A day later, after circulating
flyers throughout the area, a
resident, notified Karren of a
possible sighting. A German
Shepherd fitting her description
was seen. The dog was coaxed to
climb inside a van. Fears are
that Tia is nowhere near her
home, perhaps she was taken to
another State or someone has her
and does not want to return her.
