FRI TODD SCHOENBAUM, DDS
8:30- The restoration of implants in the aesthetic zone varies significantly from implant treatment in other areas. Successful
4:30 outcomes require not just osseointegration of the implant itself, but also creation of appropriate gingival architecture,
selection and fabrication of an abutment / crown system that balances aesthetic and functional demands. Special attention
will be given to provisional techniques, abutment / crown selection, impression techniques and gingival shaping. The
techniques and materials demonstrated will balance efficient and practical techniques with clinical results and scientific
evidence.

4:30 restorative dentistry. Tips and techniques for these materials will be discussed during this presentation. Pros and cons of
each material will be discussed. This course will cover the latest development in all porcelains, cements, impression
materials and CAD/CAM technology and elucidate their influences on the modern practice of dentistry.

2. 7/19 CONTEMPORARY RESTORATIVE TRENDS
FRI DAN WARD, DDS
8:30- Modern dentistry is ever changing with the introduction of new materials and techniques, yet it is difficult to decide which to implement.
4:30 No “one size fits all” material exists so the practitioner must have a broad knowledge of many protocols. With the aging demographics of
our population it is important to use age-appropriate restorative materials. Composites with optimized nano-filler particles and non-bis-
GMA resins decrease wear, polymerization shrinkage stress and optimized optical qualities. Glass Ionomer restorative materials can
serve as a therapeutic restorative material, reducing post-operative sensitivity and potential recurrent decay. These subjects and some
you may have never heard about will be presented. This course is an excellent way to update your skills using the latest restorative
materials.

8/23 DIRECT RESTORATIONS IN THE CONTEMPORARY ESTHETIC PRACTICE
FRI FOROUD HAKIM, DDS
8:30- While the use of amalgam as the default direct restorative material has declined worldwide and has even ceased completely
4:30 based on region, the need for a direct restorative substitute has never been greater. With heightened patient desires for
esthetic restoration alternatives, the elimination of metal based restorations and conservative, earlier restorative intervention,
resin dentistry is a staple of the modern general practice.

9/20 BUILDING YOUR PRACTICE BY CREATING PREDICTABLE BIOMIMETIC, MINIMALLY INVASIVE RESTORATIONS
FRI MARK MALTERUD, DDS
8:30- This lecture will present the diagnostic and restorative protocols that embody the philosophy that the best dentistry is no dentistry. Early
4:30 detection of caries and either remineralization or early restoration can set a tooth up for long term success. The materials, equipment
and techniques that have lead to 25 years of resin bonding success will be explored. When the National Institute of Health prints that
composite resins only last 5.7 years and the main reason for replacement is recurrent decay we need to step back and examine how this
impacts our patients and practices. The reasons for this lack of success will be discussed and techniques for creating long term success
will be taught. .

10/18 DESIGNED FOR ACCOMPLISHMENT, ENGINEERED FOR SUCCESS
FRI TIM BIZGA, DDS
8:30- Those in search of riches know that one must move a lot of dirt in order to find a little bit of gold. This course is designed to sift through
4:30 the “dirt”, providing informational “gold” on a variety of dental topics essential to seeing long term success. How our daily practice is
affected by what we do, what we use, and what we think about for each case. Participants will learn about the current trends in today’s
general practice, understand the latest materials in today’s market and gain an understanding of how, adding one new procedure or one
new technique, can elevate your game.
