Baskin Library Floor Plan
1. Scanner cut off point The Redesigning of the Baskin Library: These two original images are the before (top) and after (bottom) diagrams of Baskin library. In comparing the two, one can see stark differences in the layout. Some of the big changes are creating the tent/rug area for reading, placing all fiction/nonfiction books in one area which enabled us to see everyone from the circulation desk, moving all tables in one location which accommodated large classes, and adding fish to our fish tank and moving the tank closer to the entrance. I also consolidated the resources, mixing paperbacks with hardcover books for example; this enabled me to pass the extra shelves to some teachers in need. Arrows in the middle of each of the diagrams indicate where image were cut due to scanner capabilities. Using MS Word, I was able, with the help of my teenage daughter, to put the two halves together for each picture, making them whole again. Yellow arrows show the main entrance which was cut off by scanner, while blue arrows illustrate the exit leading to the paved play area. Scanner cut off point
