 Find the number of students who passed

from 150. The number of students who
passed in all the papers is 25, therefore
the answer is 150-25 = 125. ans.

 30 passed in accounts and maths, that
means they failed in costing. However,
30 includes those persons also who
passed in all the papers. Thus
(30+35+32) –(25+25+25) =97-75 = 22
ans.

X = (1,2,3,4,… ), Y = (1,8,27,64 . . ),
where the F(x) = X^3, where X is a
positive integer. Is it a bijection
function?
 Yes, because it is both ONTO and ONE
TO ONE function. For each value of X
there is a unique image and there is no
value in co-domain, which does not have
an image in domain. Therefore it is
Bijection function.
www.afterschoool.tk AFTERSCHO☺OL's MATERIAL FOR PGPSE PARTICI
X = (-1,1,-2,2,-3,3,-4 ,4,… ), Y =
(1,8,27,64 . . ), where the F(x) = X^3,
where X is an integer. Is it a
bijection function?
 No, it is ONTO, but not one to one
function, so it is not bijection function.
www.afterschoool.tk AFTERSCHO☺OL's MATERIAL FOR PGPSE PARTICI
X = (1,2,3,4,… ), Y =
(1,4,8,9,16,25,27 . ), where the F(x) =
X^3, where X is a positive integer. Is
it a bijection function?
 It is One to One function, but not an
ONTO function, bececuase there are
many values in co-domain, which don’t
have any image in domain (for example
4,16, 25 etc.). So answer is No.
www.afterschoool.tk AFTERSCHO☺OL's MATERIAL FOR PGPSE PARTICI
X = (1,2,3,4,… ), Y = (1,8,27,64 . . ),
where the F(x) = X^0, where X is a
positive integer. Is it a bijection
function?
 No. It is a constant function. For all
values of X, there is only one value in Y
that is Zero. Thus it is a constant
function.
www.afterschoool.tk AFTERSCHO☺OL's MATERIAL FOR PGPSE PARTICI
X = (1,2,3,4,… ), Y = (1,8,27,64 . . ),
where the F(x) = X^0, where X is a
positive integer. Is it a one to one
function?
 No. As one to one function requires that
there should de different value in Y for
each value of X. but in this case, for
each value of X, there is only one value
of Y, therefore it is not one to one
function. It is a constant function.
www.afterschoool.tk AFTERSCHO☺OL's MATERIAL FOR PGPSE PARTICI
X = (1,2,3,4,… ), Y = (-1,1,-2,2,-3,3… ),
where the F(x) = X^1/2, where X is
an integer. Is it a function?
 No. Function requires that there should
be an image of X in Y axis, but there are
many values in X, which don’t have any
image in Y, so this is not a function.
www.afterschoool.tk AFTERSCHO☺OL's MATERIAL FOR PGPSE PARTICI
X = (1,4,9.. ), Y = (-1,1,-2,2,-3,3… ),
where the F(x) = X^1/2, where X is
an integer. Is it a one to one
function?
 No. Because, there are two same values
in Y for one value of X. For example, for
1, we have two values in Y, -1 and 1. for
4, we have two values -2 and 2. thus this
cannot be function.
www.afterschoool.tk AFTERSCHO☺OL's MATERIAL FOR PGPSE PARTICI
If X = (a,b) and Y = (p,q), which
is not a function?
a. (a,p), (a,q), (b,p), (b,q)
b. (a,p),(b,q)
c. (a,p),(b,p),
d. (a,q),(b,q)

  • 14. www.afterschoool.tk AFTERSCHO☺OL's MATERIAL FOR PGPSE PARTICI X = (1,4,9.. ), Y = (-1,1,-2,2,-3,3… ), where the F(x) = X^1/2, where X is an integer. Is it a one to one function?  No. Because, there are two same values in Y for one value of X. For example, for 1, we have two values in Y, -1 and 1. for 4, we have two values -2 and 2. thus this cannot be function.
