Relieve Anxiety
If you suffer from Panic or Anxiety attacks or
just have a higher level of anxiety on a daily
basis there are some things you can do on
your own to help relieve the symptoms.
One method that is easy to do daily is deep
breathing exercises. It is amazing how relaxed
deep breathing can calm you down. This can
be done anytime throughout the day or when
you feel the anxiety start to build up.
You can do this anywhere but if you can find a
nice quite spot it would be better. Just sit
comfortably relaxed and close your eyes. You
will be slowly breathing in and out. In through
your nose and out through your mouth.
Now inhale in slowly to the count of 5. Now
pause for a couple seconds then exhale slowly
for a count of 5.
When you are breathing normally you may
notice your breath seem to be at the upper half
of your lungs. For deep breathing you want to
get that oxygen into the lower half. This way
you are getting the maximum of oxygen into
your system.
To do this let your abdomen expand as if you
are getting air into your stomach. Try to feel as
if the oxygen is going deeper into your lungs.
While you are exhaling let your body relax. Feel
yourself letting your shoulders just get more and
more relaxed with each exhalation.
At a minimum do ten repetitions, do more if
you have the time. You can do this as many
times during the day as you like.
