• Plastics that end up in the ocean never
decompose or “mineralize,” instead they become
more dangerous for marine life by becoming
smaller pieces that are a choking hazard for
mammals at sea.
• Ingestion and entanglement are direct impacts
caused by marine debris.
• “Garbage Patches” refers to sections of the ocean
that are polluted with plastic/man-made debris. So
much, that the water underneath is barely visible.
• Cut all plastics and reduce, reuse and recycle all
items that can be repurposed to prevent
hazardous situations such as items accidentally
ending up in our oceans.
