Four groups became caught up in a race to claim land in a new territory. They used flags to stake their territorial claims without fully understanding the benefits. One group had an early advantage which caused resentment from the other groups who scrambled to catch up. There was later a discussion about the fairness of the scramble and who would keep the lands that were claimed.
