This project focuses on the importance of life-course vaccination for patients with chronic diseases. The
overall objective of the project is to provide means towards increasing the vaccination coverage of such
patients by increasing their uptake of vaccines. More specifically, the project aims to provide patients with
chronic diseases as well as health professionals and supporting communities, such as patients’ associations,
families and caretakers, with tailored information about the vital importance of vaccines in their specific context,
thus improving their confidence in vaccines and empowering them to make the best possible decisions on
vaccination.
This project encompasses 3 tasks described in detail in the technical specifications below. Task 1 consists
of the development of an advanced toolkit for patients with chronic diseases as well as health professionals
and supporting communities. Task 2 consists of the organisation of 3 workshops for those patients, health
professionals and supporting communities with the purpose of disseminating and refining the toolkit developed
in task 1. Task 3 is a follow-up on the 3 workshops and consists in the evaluation of the potential of the toolkit to
improve confidence in vaccines among patients with chronic diseases and, in this way, increase their uptake of
vaccines, as well as in the refinement of the toolkit on the basis of the findings of the evaluation.
In addition to the refined advanced toolkit, the project shall result in a final report with options and
recommendations in the specific area of the building of confidence in vaccines among patients with chronic
diseases.
