It is essential that all lighting professionals can demonstrate continuing professionalism and competence. Our programme of courses, seminars and events play a key role in helping lighting professionals maintain and update their existing skills, acquire new skills and progress their career.
In this way, members can achieve their full potential, reach personal objectives, strengthen professional credibility and accelerate career development.

Editor's Notes
Please insert your name and region into the slide.
Emphasize to your audience that they are doing CPD , but probably not recording it!
Most anything is CPD. I would rather see more CPD recorded, with some items being of borderline relevance than none at all.
If in doubt record it!
ILP members at any grade have an obligation to record their CPD
I have heard “I’m a salesman I do not need to do CPD.” Yes you do! We have sales-people upgrading to full member with IEng status.
We are audited by the Engineering Council on our members CPD. This is part of our Licence.
You never know when you may need it!
Membership upgrade :- CPD Ideally for then last three years and a forward plan for the next twelve months
Have an example CDP sheet to show your audience. There is an exemplar on the website.
Organiser can be your employer, a manufacturer, the ILP, other organisation or self.
The total hours is the total time of the event e.g. 5 hours or 1 day.
CPD hours are less, the actual presentation time , It does not include coffee breaks, lunch etc.
Typical type of activity are “Presentation” “Tutorial” “ Meeting” or Private study”
What you learnt.
What you got out of it.
Evaluation – Don’t just say “good” A short description of the event stating how useful it was to you objectives. Or not as the case may be.
Offer to answer any questions now or informally during the break.
Refer to the ILP website , Chantal – Membership Services Manager or Guy Harding VP Membership who are always happy to answer questions.
