Topic of Paper: Ancient Egypt

Please discuss the following areas:

      The Nile River Valley
      Pharoahs
      Pyramids


Reference Page: Please make a separate page that lists the sources you used. You
must list at least THREE sources.
        You may use non-fiction books/magazines and websites.
        If you use websites please write down the whole website address! (Please
           note wikipedia and about.com ARE NOT acceptable.)
        Make sure you put the information into your own words and do not simply
           copy and paste! Mrs. Gibala will be checking the websites!


General Requirements:

       A. Report must be double spaced

       B. Margins should be one inch on all sides

       C. Font should be size 12

       D. Use only readable font, such as Arial or Georgia –Nothing too fancy

       E. Paper should be between 1 ½ and 3 pages

       F. Late papers will be marked down 10% each day they are late

               1. First paragraph

                      a) Introduction

                      b) Topic Sentence

               2. Second paragraph

                      a) Teach me about the Nile River Valley

                      b) Tell me important facts about it

                      c) What is something interesting about it?

               3. Third paragraph

                      a) Tell me about Pharoahs

                     b) Similar to paragraph one

               4. Fourth paragraph

                      a) Tell me about the pyramids

                     b) Similar to the other paragraphs

                     a) Conclusion

                     b) Restate topic sentence

                     c) Sum up Ancient Egypt

      C. Use different fonts, sizes, colors and style to emphasize specific text

              1. This does not mean every paragraph should be a different color!!

              2. Use different fonts, colors and styles to distinguish between parts of
              the report


      D. Include a graphic image

              1. It must relate to the report

              2. Consider the size of the graphic before inserting it in the report…do
              not use a graphic as a whole page!

Things to remember:
    A paragraph is three or more complete sentences.
    Spell check!! Red underline means you misspelled a word, or the computer
      dictionary does not recognize it (such as a name). Green underline means there
      is something grammatically wrong or you may just have an extra space.
    Copying and pasting, or copying information word for word out of a
      book/magazine, is considered plagiarism. This is a serious matter!! Please do
      not take credit for someone else’s work.
    When searching online for information you must consider the site source. Sites
      like wikipedia allow anybody to publish information on a topic. It may not be
      correct! Try to stick to reputable sites.
    You will receive a double grade on this project! One grade from Mr. Murray and
      one grade from Mrs. Gibala.
