6. What Is EMV?
EMV stands for Europay, MasterCard and Visa.
It’s become the global standard for “chip cards”
and IC card capable point of sale (POS) terminals
and automated teller machines (ATMs).
It’s used for authenticating
debit and credit card
transactions.

7. How is it more secure?
Microchip technology - The microchip
technology assigns a “unique transaction number”
which allows the merchant’s terminal to challenge the
EMV card to prove that it’s authentic.
This makes it harder to
counterfeit than a mag strip,
and adds additional levels of
authentication to the
transaction process.
