2. What is prostate cancer
Cancerous cells develop in the prostate gland, an exocrine gland in male reproductive
system. In most of the cases, the tumors arising from the cancerous cells grow very
slowly and remain confined in the gland for many years showing no symptoms.
Prostate cancer is rarely found in men below 40 years but mostly found in men above
75 years of age. Other people at risk include alcohol addicted men, farmers, tire plant
workers, painters and men having diet rich in cadmium.
Symptoms:
These symptoms usually appear at a later stage:
Delayed or slowed start of urinary stream, dribbling or leakage of urine
Straining when urinating, or not being able to empty out all of the urine
Blood in the urine or semen
