Shockingdaybreak.Soon the square was filled with crying people includingmyself and
ShirleyTemple Black.
Alwaysremember that Nazism and Communism have one thing in common. They both
promotetotalitarianism.(The rising communists in USA seem to be confused about the
system they fight for.)
Before WWII, Einsteinproclaimed that war will follow upon war untilthe civilization
achievesthe moral strength to overcome greed for power and contradictionsin
ideologies. It's been nearly a century and we are still bound to share the fate of former
civilizations:decline and decay.
What is worse, our society is slowly and unnoticeablyheadingtoward the Marxist
ideology. It's easy to be blindedby ideology of "Communist Manifesto" written in the
first half of 1840 by Marx and Engels. In the time of poverty their idea sounded like a
fairy tale:the bad guys, the richest, are defeated and the poorgood guys live happily
ever after in togetherness. Really?None of its creators have lived long enough to see the
result of their theory for it was first brought into realityin 1917 by Lenin. Since then,
3. historyhas taught us that achievingequalityis impossiblewithout totalitarianism - the
regime of dictatorshipand tyranny. People are not ants. Nothing can make them think
like one people and live like one people. Neither their intellectswill ever be equal. And
livingunder force feels like not having oxygen to breathe. Thus, freedom is life. Period!
As I had sensed the politicalsituationof today, that was when our soldierswere
returning from the Afghan War together with coffins, I have set myself a difficult task. To
give my belovedpeople a piece of my life from the Cold War era that manifests
culminationof Marxist theory and the freedom of Capitalism.Such was the system of
the United Statesof America back then, where even the old houses on Time Square
exposing the wooden skeleton beneath felt to me like living in Garden of Eden. It was
the feel of freedom. But reliving the dreadful life behind the Iron Curtainwas
unbearabletorturemixed with what some people would consider a mystery. While I
wasdescribing my old wounds, the politicalcrisis of today were rising, one after
anotheras if my memories alluredthem.
The bestselling novel, "The UnbearableLightness of Being", was based on my life, but
much of the reality was omitted and replaced by fictionalmethod of eroticism. As a
result, the line between the two elements are disturbing, leaving millionsof readers in
confusionand wondering about what is real and what is fiction.
