  1. 1. SMART SOLAR HOME SYSTEM WITH SAFETY DEVICE LOW VOLTAGE ALERT Abstract: In developing countries the shortage of power is huge according to the demand. Due to power crisis other different problems also arise in these countries. As power is related to each and every sector of the country, this problem should be rectified on emergency basis. This power crisis problem cannot be solved overnight. But full utility of resources can be ensured. Hence using renewable sources of energy has gained eyes on it. One of the commonly available renewable energy sources is solar power. But solar power is not equally distributed throughout the world. Also in a particular place, the solar energy is not equally available throughout the day. Hence using this source leads to low voltage problems at times. This paper here discusses on the same problem devising a solution for the same. Existing system: In the existing system the load is made to run by directly applying the solar power. The disadvantage here is that the solar output varies constantly which may lead to the damage of loads. Proposed system: In the proposed system, the power obtained from the solar panel is stored using a battery. The battery voltage levels are monitored using PIC Microcontroller and the voltage level is displayed in LCD. If any abnormality such as low voltage is encountered, the load is tripped OFF using a relay circuit and an alarm is raised to indicate the status abnormality.
