• Vision is to design an Unmanned Gun-Post which will be armed with a heavy machine gun.
• This Gun-Post will fire automatically on the recognition of a target with the help of Image
Processing and Gesture Recognition.
• The Gun-Post will be run by power from a Wind Turbine but will also have a Battery to
increase its reliability
• The use of Wind Energy would reduce the carbon footprint of the device.
• Wind Energy is available in excess in the hilly regions and is thus a very feasible energy
source.
• The use of Solar Energy would lead to various problems like efficiency reduction due to snow
deposit, cloud cover. But Solar Energy will be useful in the area of Eastern Part of Afghanistan
Border nearer to Pakistan.
• Region where the climate is torturously cold and 24 hour patrolling is not always possible in
such conditions and moreover during bad weather patrolling may be hindered, our
BorderForce will be there to secure the International Border 24/7.
Understanding About BorderForce
An Unmanned Wind Energy Powered Gun Post

 The Gun-Post will run by power from Wind Turbine but will also have a battery to
increase its reliability. When interconnected with many similar Gun-Posts, this
chain of Gun-Posts will form a barrier to stop the enemy.
 Each such Post will have an inbuilt controller, 50Ah Battery, set of 2 Motors /
Controller for aiming the Gun and Internet Connection / High Speed Data
Transmission System for manual control.
 The Wind Turbine for this purpose will be a normal PMSG with a Rectifier Interface.
The turbine will be retractable, i.e. it will be able to come down, like an antenna
during an attack so that minimum damage occurs to the turbine.
 BorderForce System will be installed in three different modules i.e.
 Module 1: Design and Implementation of an Image Processing Algorithm
 Module 2: Motor Control, Aiming and Triggering.
 Module 3: Interconnection, Wind Energy Planning And Optimal Placement

Imaging and Infrared will be on board of each Gun-Post.
 These Gun-Posts will be equipped with highly accurate aiming algorithms that will prevent the wastage of
bullets.
 Gesture recognition will play a very important role in this solution.
 Firstly, the detection of hiding gesture can help distinguish friend and foe.
 Secondly, to detect whether the target has been hit or not.

 The Wind Turbines will be retractable because they can become primary targets during an attack. Thus the control
system will be able to bring down the WT just before an attack.
 Wind Turbines will be connected to a series of Gun-Posts which will have a battery for storage and reliability, in
case the WT is damaged or wind speed is too less.
 These Gun-Posts will be interconnected to each other so that Decision Making comes from different angles of
view.
 Optimal Placement of these Guns will be derived out because, each Gun-Post will have a 120 degree View Angle.
This View Angle may be subjected to hills and other features and hence the gun post may be compromised.
