- 4. The short-term exchangesstretch over a couple of days to three months, subject to the program specifications. Unlike long term exchanges where the participant studies in the local school in the host country, the short-term ones are customized to suit his/her interests. Tours of specific places or regions can be included upon the participant’s request. Rotary Youth Exchange offers short-term exchanges in varied structures but homestays, tours, family-to- family, and international youth camps are the sought-after options. Each option is affordable, as the participant’s lodging, food, and school fees are sponsored by Rotary International. - 5. Besides Gap YearAbroad Program , Rotary Youth Exchange also offers Rotary Study Abroad program. This is a scholarship program, allowing eligible candidates to pursue education in foreign shores with complete assurance. The program includes hosting by foreign Rotary Club, primary tuition and placement in a Rotary approved school, homestay accommodation with food, and a monthly stipend. The participant can also expect airport transfers on arrival and departure, round the clock worldwide emergency assistance, along with secondary travel and medical insurance, accident, ill health, repatriation and third-party liability. However, airfare, passport and visa fees need to be paid out of pocket.
