A sound church is one that is spiritually healthy. A church promotes soundness through good elders who oppose false teachers, and preachers who teach and exemplify sound doctrine. Churches become unsound when they listen to false teaching or tolerate unhealthy behavior. The dangers of an unsound church include doctrinal errors leading to unholy living, falling from grace, or putting members at odds with Christ. Personal or collective unsoundness can infect others or lead to the death of the church.
