Todorov's narrative theory proposes that every story consists of 5 stages: 1) an initial state of equilibrium, 2) a disruption to the equilibrium, 3) recognition of the disruption, 4) an attempt to repair the disruption, and 5) a return to a new equilibrium. The document then analyzes several Pixar films and shows how each film follows these 5 stages, validating Todorov's theory of narrative structure.

6. Finding Nemo This proves Todorovโs theory 5.They find Nemo and live happily again 4. Marvin meets Dory and together they look for Nemo 3. Marvin (Nemoโs dad) realises Nemo is missing 2. Nemo is captured after being dared to touch a boat 1. Nemo lives happily with his dad
8. Shrek 1 5. He falls in love with the princess and they live happily 4. He rescues the princess 3. Shrek meets Donkey and together they got to lord Farquad. He says Shrek must rescue a princess if he wants his land back 2. All fairy tale creatures are sent to Shrek's swamp 1. Shrek lives happily This proves Todorovโs theory
9. Over the Hedge 5. RJ tricks the bear and exterminator to have a fight and then lives happily with his new found freinds 4. RJ meets up with other animals and secretly gets the food back, whilst avoiding a pest exterminator 3. The bear tells RJ to get his food back 2. RJ fails to get food, so steals it off a bear 1. RJ lives happily This proves Todorovโs theory
