The COVID-19 pandemic has created the largest disruption
of education systems in human history, affecting schools,
institutions and other learning spaces and impacting more
than 94% of the world’s student population.
While countries are at different points in their COVID-19
infection rates, worldwide there are currently more than1.2
billion children in 186 countries affected by school closures
due to the pandemic.
As a result, education has changed dramatically, with the
distinctive rise of e-learning, whereby teaching is undertaken
remotely and on digital platforms.
Will the adoption of online learning continue to persist post-
pandemic and what must we do to prepare ourselves for the
same?
