COURSE DESCRIPTION
 This course aims to provide
students in understanding
relationship internal
structural language and
external structural language.
 This course also deals with
how language structure,
society and its relationship in
teaching and learning English
as a foreign language.
 In this course, students will be
given some materials related to
how language and sociaty affect
each other and how its effect
works in teaching and learning
english as foreign language.
 This course will deeply discuss
about the nature of sociolinguistics,
the relationship between
sociolinguistics in English
Language teaching context, code
switching, code mixing,
multilingalism, bilingualism,
language, gender and sex,
language change, global language
and so on.
LEARNING
OBJECTIVES
 In this course, students are expected to have
good understanding about the concept of
sociolinguistics especially in English Language
teaching context. Students are also expected
to have critical thinking and understanding
about the relationship between the concept of
language and society. At the end of this study,
students are able to understand and distinguish
the concept of language and its function, its
view on society.
