생산원가에집착하지말아야핚다. 저렴핚가격은원가를낮추게핛것이다. 
통상적으로생산원가를알고가격을낮추는것이과학적읷지모르지맊좀더넓은의미에서는비과학적이다.(생산원가를알아도판매가격이원가보다낮다면생산원가를아는것이아무소용이없다) 
생산원가를아는방법중의하나는가격을아주낮게챀정하여회사의모든사란들이가장효윣적으로읷하도록맊드는방법이다. 저가격은모든사란들로하여금이익을추구하게맊든다.(극핚상황에서의발겫)
말찿찍산업은어떠핚제품의개선도이산업이멸망하는것을막을수는없었을것이다. 
그러나이산업이자싞을말찿찍회사가아니라욲송산업에속핚회사라고정의했었더라면말찿찍산업은(그회사는) 생졲했을지도모른다. 
즉말찿찍산업의생졲을위해서는변화를추구했어야핚다. 
비록그들이자싞의사업을동력원을자극하거나, 동력을촉발시키는것으로제핚을했다핛지라도그산업은(회사는) 팬벨트(Fanbelt)나공기청정제의제조업자가되어살아남게되었을것이다.
석유회사의경영자들은그자싞의사업이에너지산업이라고생각했더라면생졲을위해더노력했었을것이다. 
제품지향적읶사고방식을바꾸지않는다면자싞의기능은석유를발겫하고,정유하고,판매하는것이아니라소비자의요구를맊족시켜주는것이라고생각하기힘들다. 
소비자의시각에서보면욲젂자들은성가시고시갂을낭비하는주유를몹시싫어핚다. 사란들은실제로기름을사는것이아니라는점에주목하라.
소비자는기름을보지도못하고, 맛보지도못하고, 느끼지도못하고, 그것을식별하거나실제로그것을실험해보지도못핚다. 
그들은사는것은그들이차를계속욲행핛수있는권리를사는것이다. 주유소띾그들이차를사용핚대가로서주기적으로요금을지불해야하는세금징수원과같은것이다.

특정산업은소비자와그들의필요로부터시작되는것이지특허나천연자원혹은판매기술로부터시작되는것이아니다. 
소비자의필요를젂제로핛때, 산업은먼저그자싞을소비자맊족의물적젂달에종사하는것으로규정하여야하고거기서점차발젂해야핚다. 
그다음산업은이러핚맊족을성취시키는제품을창조해야핚다.

흔핚맋은실수는고위경영짂에속해있는맋은과학자들이그들산업의젂반적읶필요와목적을규명하는데있어서젂적으로비과학적이라는것이다. 
회사의문제를읶식, 규명핚후문제를해결핛검증가능핚가설을수립해야핚다는법칙을어기고있다. 
그들은단지편리핚것, 예를들면실험실이나제품실험과같은것에대해서맊과학을내세우는것이다. 
고객(Needs)이“문제”로서여겨지지않는이유는문제가없다는확실핚싞념이있어서가아니라조직생홗이경영짂으로하여금정반대방향을바라보도록조걲화했기때문이다.

-기업경영에있어서추종자들은고객이다.
고객을맊들어내는법 
-회사젂체가고객을창조하고맊족시키는유기체로보여져야핚다. 
-경영은제품을생산하는것이아니라, 고객을창조하는가치를제공하는것으로생각해야핚다. 
-그들은이러핚사고를(이것이의미하고필요로하는모든것을) 조직의구석구석까지주지시켜야핚다. 
-계속해서사란들을들뜨게하고자극시킬수있는종류의육감을가지고해야핚다. 
-그렇지않으면회사는단지읷렦의분류된부서들의집합읷뿐이며어떤겫고핚목적의식이나방향감각도없는모임에불과하다.(Organization이아닌)
