1. Portable Enraf Terminal
An indispensable tool for configuring,
commissioning, testing and servicing
Enraf’s field instruments
Enraf’s quality line of microprocessor-based field instruments can be easily
configured without opening them. The Portable Enraf Terminal (PET),
a robust and compact device, is the key to externally accessing the Enraf
gauges regardless of weather or operating conditions.
The PET provides an easy means of configuring, commissioning and verifying
instrument settings without taking the gauge out of service. The full
alphanumeric keyboard even allows the operator to type commands with his
gloves on! The LCD display, with four lines of up to 20 alphanumeric characters
per line, makes the PET easy to read under any conditions.
Enraf has simplified the commands to be short, meaningful and easy to
memorize in order to considerable ease the field work. Connection of the PET
to the field instruments is simple. A flexible optical connector easily plugs into
the field instrument’s infra-red communication port. It can also be configured
as an RS-232C interface, between the instrument and a PC.
All settings can now be accomplished from the control room using Enraf
software service utilities. In this way, there is no need to climb the tank.
Its certified intrinsically safe construction allows its use in hazardous
environments, while unauthorized use is prevented by a password access
system.
The PET is one more benefit that Enraf provides to enhance the value of its
field instruments while making your job easier.
