ARTIST BIO/STATEMENT
I am a native of Frederick County. I studied Fine Arts at Frederick Community College and
subsequently Art History and Archaeology at Hood College. I love to create and try new craft
forms. I am particularly drawn to bird imagery. My body of work includes a variety of
paintings, drawings, hand-pulled prints, photography, mixed media, and jewelry. I enjoy trying
something new as the muse sways me, thus each piece of artwork and jewelry I create is a one-
of-a-kind design. For me, the act of creating art is the same kind of spontaneous fun a child
experiences while playing; nothing strict or didactic, but freely flowing imagination. I never
liked "staying within the lines" while drawing as a child, and I still do not.
