by Professor Alan Cowman
Wednesday, March 4, 2015 | 1.30 p.m. - 5.00 p.m.
Auditorium IPPP, University of Malaya
About the talk
A career in research implies pursuing knowledge in a particular chosen field. All researchers
share a primary purpose, which is to uncover the meaning, significance, causes and effects of
whatever area that they wish to explore. Researchers’ efforts could have various academic,
business, industry, political, social or scientific impact. Developing society’s understanding
and appreciation of a particular field or topic, or developing products or applications based
on research findings, is an admirable achievement and provides a wider context to a career
in research.
This lecture will be of interest to students, faculty and members of the public who are
considering or have embarked on a career in research.
