 What if I told you that there is a way to spend zero ($0, nil, nothing)
on recruitment advertising?
 The recruiting industry over the years has seen rapid change. With
technological changes, came the aggregate job boards, such as
Indeed.com and Simplyhired.com and many other niche boards. While
they do try and up sell the paid-per-click advertising; it’s not required for
positive results for your postings. The ultimate advancement came
when many Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) added a simple feature
that allows you to post straight to job boards with a click of a button (or
a few clicks).
 When researching new ATS’s, my priorities were essentially; low fixed
cost, feature to post jobs on job boards, and ease of use. For example;
I use a small ATS, called ApplicantStack. While I get no commissions
on this (but probably should..wink, wink), it’s a simple but worthy
system to handle most job postings and hiring. There are thousands of
systems available, which works for your organization can vary.
 Ultimately, we pay a low $65/mo. (paid quarterly), all for the use of the
system to collect resumes, screen candidates (pre-screen
questions), follow candidate workflows/stages
(interview, hired, etc.), and make notes and more. It allowed us to have
a job board on our career page too
(http://www.homecreations.com/careers). Whatever system you
choose, do not forget the job posting feature. This is the key to reducing
or negating your recruitment advertising costs, as well as a major
administrative time saver. Within 5 minutes, I can repost a position and
post it on Indeed.com (organic search), Simplyhired.com (organic
search), and social media (Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin) all for no cost.
Then, I can manually post to Craigslist.com (system gives me link
directly to the job).
 I have worked for companies that spend a quarter-million per year on
job postings alone and I think that is ludicrous. However, many
Executive and managers are afraid of change and being the one to
change too much. In today’s world, change is King. Only those who
embrace it, including technology will still be around to enjoy its benefits.
