Various sporting events are held across the country on this day, which was first celebrated in 1935 and officially designated in 1938. In 1980, the day was renamed the Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports. This year's festivities will include athletic demonstrations and ceremonies, culminating in a presentation to President Erdogan. The holiday aims to showcase the significance of youth and sports in Turkish society.

1. YOUTH AND SPORT DAY - 19TH MAY
On 19th
May it is celebrated the Atatürk of youth and
sport with various sports around the whole country. This
day is known as “Atatürk Day” for the first time on May
24, 1935. This scoop was held on May 19 under the
leadership of the sports club of the Besiktas and with the
participationof athletesof the Galatasaray in the stadium
of the Fenerbahse. It was agreed in 1938 that on May 19
was the official day forever.

2. In 1980 it began to be called “Day of the Commemoration
to Atatürk of the youth and the sport”.
This festivity is celebrated with sports shows and various
ceremonies in all over Turkey. The Hobby Flat is worn by
the athletes of Sawsun until Ankara. This year will be
presented to the president Erdogan in the ceremonies of
19 May.
