The document describes a data architecture with data exposed and consumed through HTML5 and next-gen web, mobile and client devices. A custom service allows for data syncing and common tools through OData, providing rich insight and visualization.
The document discusses different pricing models - Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Data as a Service (DaaS) - for a tool that facilitates extracting, linking, and visualizing linked data. It examines potential cost drivers like CPU usage, storage, and data transfer. It also provides an example calculation of costs for a specific linked data operation and discusses challenges in identifying realistic costs and income. The conclusion advocates exploiting the technology through applications and services that can enhance existing data and provide an integrated data infrastructure.
The document discusses mashups, which combine data from multiple online sources to create new applications and services, describing different types of mashups including business, consumer, and data mashups. It also covers mashup enablers that allow incompatible resources to be combined, and challenges of data integration such as text-data mismatch and differing abstraction levels between data sources.

When you hear data virtualization, do you think BI and analytics? If so, you’re misinformed and missing out on a whole set of possibilities and capabilities of this technology. It is probably also why you think data virtualization is of no use to you if you need to access your data through APIs.
This is why we’re back with another episode of Myth Busters!
We enter the world, or ecosystem, of APIs and API-based architectures to investigate whether data virtualization plays a role in it. Maybe we’ll even learn that it possibly can enhance API capabilities and increase the benefits?
Here’s what we’ll be exploring:
- Is there a place for data virtualization in an API strategy?
- Can data virtualization enhance the deployment and exposure of APIs?
- Can data virtualization work as a service container or as an API gateway?
- Data virtualization and GraphQL...are they really like oil and water?
Windows Azure is well-suited for ecommerce applications by providing scalability, availability, and support for multi-devices. It allows ecommerce sites to automatically scale based on traffic, distribute load across datacenters for high availability, and develop interoperable applications using standard protocols that can run on multiple devices. Windows Azure's traffic manager can direct users to the best performing datacenter and fail over between datacenters to ensure availability. Data synchronization tools allow keeping data available across datacenters.
The document discusses several eCommerce solutions developed by Create for clients. It describes solutions for a ticket sales system, an eCommerce site for Renova, an in-development site for Vista Alegre Atlantis, and the Pestana.com and Pousadas.pt sites. The solutions integrate features like content management, online payments, order management, and customization. They are built on technologies like Azure, SQL databases, and payment gateways and allow both cloud and on-premise deployment.
