This document discusses warriors without weapons who help others selflessly, such as those in the Red Cross. It notes that these groups often do not receive much help and should seek support from families, groups, and sometimes governments. Citizens can help with their time because it is their responsibility and helping others can eventually help themselves. The document also discusses how understanding reciprocation can help build relationships and influence others by giving without expectation of immediate return, highlighting assistance instead and positioning help as a natural give and take process to increase chances of future reciprocation. It concludes by saying to maintain peace and continue being warriors without weapons.

Transforming aggression into compassionYogesh Singla
An aggressive society destroys relationships and hope for healthy communities. Aggression is increasingly influencing decisions and actions in organizations, leading to rising distrust and stress. To solve problems without aggression requires humility, admitting we don't have all the answers, and compassion, recognizing others may have valuable perspectives. By stepping away from rigid positions and embracing other views, we can see problems more fully and work together towards solutions.
The document encourages donating to charitable causes through the GiveIndia organization. It suggests that if one thinks they have problems, there are others who have it worse. It then provides information on how to donate through GiveIndia's website, stating they have screened NGOs for transparency and donors will receive feedback on the impact of their donation. A list of causes one can donate to is given, such as children, the disabled, education, the elderly, employment, the environment, health, human rights, and women.
Friendship is constituted by characteristics like similarity, voluntary association, and trust. Similarity in hobbies, thoughts or dreams is a basic step to developing friendship by providing common ground. Friendship appears with the aim of giving rather than receiving, so everything is shared without expectation of personal benefit. Lastly, trust is important for friendship because it is difficult to be friends with those who lie or cannot be trusted.

This document presents a model for healthy human relationships called "Side by Side Living". It argues that independence and social connections are both important, but that neither complete independence nor conformity to social pressures leads to healthy relationships. Instead, it proposes that relationships are healthiest when both individuals bring their authentic selves and make their own choices aligned with their inner wisdom, while also making space for the other person. Conflicts will inevitably occur, but relationships are strengthened when people reconnect and find new ways of relating after disagreements. This model aims to help individuals thrive while also creating healthy relationships and groups.
Mutual understanding, trust, and avoiding negative assumptions are key to keeping relationships strong. Misunderstandings often arise from outside interference or a lack of confidence in facing issues directly. True friendship between any two people is possible, as seen in the example of Khadija and the Prophet Muhammad successfully working together. To strengthen relationships, make an effort to understand others' perspectives rather than reacting angrily, and focus on each other's best qualities instead of differences. Trust, understanding feelings, and addressing issues calmly can help overcome problems.
Loneliness is the feeling of being disconnected from others even when surrounded by people. It occurs due to a lack of meaningful relationships or feeling like one does not fit in. Loneliness has negative effects on mental health and can cause sadness. While loneliness does not have a single cause, it is often the result of losing genuine social ties through exclusion, rejection or loss. Modern life and technology can also obstruct personal interactions and exacerbate feelings of loneliness. There are multiple ways to overcome loneliness, including building a social network through events and volunteering, nurturing existing relationships, seeking counseling for severe loneliness, engaging in hobbies, and practicing self-kindness and empathy. Developing emotional intelligence can also help make
This document provides an overview of a philosophy lesson on intersubjectivity. It discusses key concepts like the self and other, interpersonal relations, empathy, and alienation. The document also discusses the importance of authentic dialogue, availability to others, and embracing differences in building harmonious relationships and communities. It aims to promote understanding and respect between people in spite of negative experiences.

It discusses examples of social facilitation in competitive school environments.
According to scientists, the topic of money is one of the most significant points of conflict in couples. But how are money and love connected, and what influence does one have on the other? How can we talk about money without damaging love? Why does "cold" money destroy a relationship? How does understanding about this delicate subject strengthen the love of couples? Michael Mary provides insights and suggestions on how each couple can recognize the role money plays in their relationship and gives concrete suggestions on how the couple can decide how to deal with it. So that the relationship "rules" over money - and not money over the relationship.

This document discusses the importance of building relationships and social connections for people with disabilities. It argues that caregivers, while temporary, have a responsibility to help the person build networks without relying solely on the caregiver. The three-step process outlined involves asking the person and others about their interests to learn about them, scouting out community spaces where they may fit in, and creating initial opportunities for them to engage in these spaces and potentially form new relationships. Emphasis is placed on seeing the person's humanity and abilities rather than just their disabilities and needs in order to open doors to a more fulfilling social life.
When family members and friends don’t understand depressionkirti betai
When friends and family don't understand depression, it can be hurtful but isn't because they don't care. Many people believe incorrect things about the causes of depression or that it can be cured by willpower. While their lack of understanding is difficult, it doesn't mean they love the depressed person any less. It's best to focus on others who can provide compassionate support and not take others' reactions personally, as their views often come from not experiencing depression themselves. Surrounding oneself with supportive people who understand depression is important for coping when symptoms are severe.
Initiating conversations with strangers can enrich our lives in several ways. As social beings, humans have an innate need for connection, and talking to strangers expands our social networks and exposes us to new perspectives. While uncomfortable at first, conversing with strangers helps overcome social anxiety, improves interpersonal skills, and boosts creativity. The article provides practical tips for starting conversations, including finding common ground, actively listening, and embracing the possibility of rejection. Overall, breaking down social barriers through talking to strangers leads to personal growth and new opportunities.
The document discusses the concept of "Be Yourself" as the eleventh fundamental of happiness. It argues that happy people are more concerned with being themselves than pleasing others or making impressions. The key is to accept oneself and be natural, honest and uninhibited with others. This allows one to attract people who genuinely like them for who they are, rather than trying to appeal to everyone through artificial means. The document uses the analogy of "A's and B's" personality types to illustrate that by being oneself, one finds the types of people who are most compatible fits, while deterring those who are not a good match.

You Have The Healing Power of
Human Connections
12:35 am 21 December 2019
Isolation is considered a punishment since the evolution of humanity. Even
today a criminal is kept away from the society trapped behind the bars as
suffering for his offense. This practice is based on the concept that human
beings are interdependent. We need each other to share feelings, fears, and
happiness. Human Connections are essential for our existence. Cutting off
Human connections from our life makes us lonely.
The power of human connection is introduced to us since our childhood.
An infant often cries for attention, to be held or to be loved. Human
connections begin building from there. In school days when we were scolded
by our teacher, we often run to our parents for consolation. Just talking to
them helps us feel better. That is the true healing power of Human
Connections. Gradually, these connections become the psychological needs
that remain with us throughout our life.
A very small instance of the need for human connection can be seen in a dark
scary place. Whenever we are scared to enter a place, we need someone with
us to hold our hands. It does not help in getting rid of the fear but helps us in
facing it. Alone the same place becomes scarier comparatively. We emerge
stronger when people stand by our side to support us.

Even within our social groups, we witness many examples of this healing
power. When someone is cheated in a relationship or losses a dear one, he or
she is heartbroken. A friend can hug and console to make them feel better
immediately. Also, when you are feeling low in life, a conversation with your
friend can cheer you up.
Human connections have been our healing powers all our lives. In recent
times a large number of people have started complaining of loneliness
and the feeling of being left out. They feel disconnected from society or find it
difficult to interact. They could be among your peers or colleagues. They
could also be your family members that you have been ignoring. Your healing
power of human connection can help them feel better and emerge out of
loneliness. Here are some simple things you can do every day for deeper and
more meaningful connections with people around you.
Take out time for people that you love. Even if you have a busy schedule,
adjust some time for your friends and family. Show them that they are equally
important.
Have a meaningful conversation with the people around you. Listen to
them with interest and without judging them.
Have a deeper understanding of each other in all your relationships. Make
each other feel special by putting in efforts to make the other happy.
Offer companionship to people facing social anxiety. If a new person has
joined your office or has recently shifted in your neighborhood, welcome
them to your group or community.
Have empathy for people going through depression. Be there for
them, talk to them and show them that you care.
Accept people with their weaknesses as none of us are perfect. Understand
each other to build stronger and long-lasting relationships.
Smile whenever and wherever you meet people. Your smile could cheer up
someone who is feeling low.
The more positive energy you give out, the more you receive. If you stand by
someone at their low times, there is a higher chance that they will stand by
you when you need them. This interdependence helps in forming a stronger
community.
