The Youth Olympic Games, held in Innsbruck from January 13-22, 2012, aimed to inspire young people globally through sport and the Olympic values of excellence, respect, and friendship, involving 1,059 athletes from 60 national Olympic committees across 15 sports. The event included an extensive culture and education program, attracting over 110,000 spectators and featuring 1,800 volunteers while operating on a €24 million budget plus €7.5 million for infrastructure. 'YOG DNA' was introduced as a label representing the spirit of the games, fostering communication and interaction among youth worldwide, supported by a structured organizing committee comprising local government and the Austrian Olympic Committee.
