Yelena Davydova is a Russian gymnast who won gold and silver medals at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. She took up gymnastics at age 6 after seeing Soviet gold medalists on TV. Davydova won team gold and balance beam silver at the 1978 world championships. She later moved to Canada in 1991 and now works as a head coach there.

3. Davydova became interested in gymnastics at the age
of six when she saw the famous Soviet Olympic gold
medalists Larisa Petrik and Natalia Kuchinskaya on
TV.

4. In 1978 Davydova won a gold medal with the
team and a silver medal on the balance beam.
She became a top competitor in her own
country, but she did not compete in international
championships until the 1980 Summer
Olympics, which were held in Moscow.

6. In 1991 Yelena Davydova moved to Canada. Now she works there as a Head
Coach.
