Yanbu is a city located on the coast of the Red Sea in western Saudi Arabia. It has a population of approximately 35,000 people and consists of three main areas: palm Yanbu, sea Yanbu, and Yanbu Industrial City. Yanbu was historically an important center and base of operations during World War I. In more recent history, the city has developed into an industrial center since 1975 when Saudi Arabia chose to develop it into an industrial city. Today, Yanbu has important commercial and industrial ports that are crucial for exports from the industries located in Yanbu and the surrounding region.
