WASHINGTON — Federal authorities arrested 16 people in New Jersey
on Sunday and seized thousands of
counterfeit designer items valued at
more than $1 million, officials said
this week.
U.S. Immigration and Customs
Enforcement’s Homeland Security
Investigations worked in conjunction
with the FBI and local police to make
the arrests of the 16 individuals, who
operated as vendors at flea markets.
The arrests were made as the vendors
were returning to a Mini U Storage to
store their unsold counterfeit merchandise after spending the weekend
at the Tacony Palmyra Flea Market in
Palmyra, N.J.
Among the bogus designer counterfeit items was merchandise from
brands such as Ralph Lauren, Nike,
Adidas, Timberland, True Religion,
The North Face, Ugg, Lacoste, Juicy
Couture and Gucci. The 16 were
arrested and charged with violation of the New Jersey TrademarkCounterfeiting Act.
When he joined Doneger, it was
believed that Greller was being groomed
to one day succeed Doneger at the helm
of the consulting firm. Doneger said
there are no immediate plans to fill the
chief operating officer position.

LVMH’S SANDY RELIEF: LVMH Moët
Hennessy Louis Vuitton’s contributions
to Hurricane Sandy relief efforts
are twofold — touching both those
employees within its brand portfolio
impacted by Sandy and facing hardships
as a result, as well as the region’s
greater efforts.
Shortly after the storm, LVMH
started working closely with each of
its brands to identify staff members in
need of help, and it has been providing
support through the brands, as well as
additional funding from LVMH Group
where necessary.
The various brands have also
individually made direct contributions
to relief efforts, and, now, LVMH
Group pledged to add to these funds
to bring the total contribution by the
brands and LVMH Group to $1 million.

WINDOW DRESSING: Saks Fifth Avenue’s
Suzanne Johnson, general manager of the

showing up for the unveiling of the
store’s Christmas windows Monday
night, despite recovering from running

supports the Memorial Sloan-Kettering

the Champagne reception inside Saks.
Earlier, Saks stopped traffic on
Fifth Avenue for hundreds to sip hot
chocolate out of Saks canisters and
watch as the Christmas windows were
unveiled. The entertainment kept

The pop-up shop will also serve as a

“It is a first step before we open a standalone store in New York,” she said.
