LoveGold Toasts Julianne Moore at PreGlobes Bash
By Fatima Rizwan
Amidst the slew of pre-Golden Globes celebrations, LoveGold
held a cocktail party at Chateau Marmont’s Selma House on
Saturday night to honor Julianne Moore, a nominee for the
award for best actress, TV movie or miniseries. A veteran of the
awards circuit, Moore was beaming with excitement in her
Givenchy dress and vintage Van Cleef & Arpels jewels. “It never
gets old,” she said. “The Golden Globes are really fun because it’s
everybody in film and television and it’s great to see everybody.”
Guests including Louise Roe, Eddie Redmayne and Dita Von
Teese mingled and kept snug in front of a candle-lit fireplace.
LoveGold, a division of the World Gold Council, decorated the
room with pieces from Neil Lane, House of Waris and Pamela
Love set atop birch tree trunks and miniature bird’s nests. While
Moore did not consult this year’s host, Tina Fey, about her
comedic portrayal of Sarah Palin on “Saturday Night Live,” she
did spend countless hours researching all things Palin for her role
in HBO’s “Game Change,” which earned her the nomination.

“There’s a tremendous amount of footage available of her so I
initially started listening to the voice and once I felt I had her
vocal mannerisms down then I worked on the physicality,” she
said. Between chatting with fellow nominee Sarah Paulson in

expensive” jewelry over the years, Moore kept mum about this
year’s Globes dress, but revealed her quick tactic for finding the
perfect attire. “I don’t like to choose from a lot. I don’t want to be overwhelmed so sometimes I’ll go to someone
and ask them to make me a dress. That’s what I did this year, I just asked someone to make me a dress.”
