2. In world war 2 women were left at home
alone whilst their husbands are at war
and most children evacuated .This
meant that the jobs that men were
previously working as were abandoned
.The women are vital to world war 2
because they take up these jobs and set
up many clubs such as the “make do
and mend club” to prevent people
wasting any rationed food or clothing.

used to say

that the girls
did it better  Building ships
than the men!  Working in factories -
making bombs and
aircraft parts
 Air raid wardens
 Driving fire engines
 Plumbers
 Ambulance drivers
 Nurses

5. The Women's Land army
In World War 2 many
different types of food
were rationed so
eventually the food was
going to run out .In 1939
the women's land army
was set up for women to
Harvest crops , care for
animals , plough fields
,and to kill any rats that
ate the crops

6. In World War 2 ration books were given
out to each family according to the
amount of members . These books were
kept mostly by the women and included
tokens for any rationed foods and lasted
for a year , however if the tokens were
used before the end of the year another
can not be assigned until the start of the
next year .
