The Bermuda Triangle, also known as Devil's Triangle or Hurricane Alley, is located in the western part of the North Atlantic Ocean. Several aircraft and ships have disappeared in the area under mysterious circumstances. While many disappearances have been reported, author Lawrence David Kusche concluded that the number of disappearances is not significantly higher than in other parts of the ocean proportionally. Notable incidents in the Bermuda Triangle include the disappearance of USS Cyclops with 309 crew members in 1918 and Flight 19, which involved 5 torpedo bombers disappearing in 1945.
