The goal of the "Filtering Communities" park design was to bring new programs to the surrounding area and bring the community together. The design creates a different experience at focal points through the park by using large elements to organize programs and a canopy system that allows movement between areas. The canopy zigzags through overlapping ground and floating elements, creating transitions between mixed programs and an exciting experience for park users of all ages.

The Goal behind the “Filtering Communities” was to bring in programs the surrounding demographic lacks to bring together the community.
During this exploration a clear concept arose, it was to create a different programmatic experience for the pedestrian at each focal point of the
park. This effect is achieved by using the larger elements as focal points that organize the program and then reinforce this idea by using a spine
like canopy system. The canopy system is a result of an overlapping between floating elements and the ground outline elements. This overlap-
ping creates a new roof typology which is then used to reinforce the large nodes as organization devices. The large nodes are what facilitate
program throughout the park, so the activity that the node is engaged with is then reflected onto the smaller elements around it. The canopy
zigzags through the park and is what activates movement throughout, it can be seen as a filter like transition zone. It allows users to pass
through it at certain locations or enter to find a different program which is a mixture of the programs the canopy is caught between. Ultimately
the organization of programs results in a different and exciting experience for pedestrians of all ages in the various points of the park.
