This lesson is the first in a series about "Work" - both a physical perspective and a spiritual perspective. This lesson primarily deals with the Bible foundations to work and discusses the question, "How should we view work?"
This document discusses the importance and meaning of work. It provides biblical quotes about work being part of God's plan and how man was created to work. Additional quotes emphasize that work should be done wholeheartedly as for God, that labor deserves wages, and that those unwilling to work should not eat. The document suggests reflecting on what you will do when your work is done and questions about when you will retire or spiritually retire.
This document discusses various forms of evidence used to establish the historical reliability of biblical narratives, including the Gospels. It examines internal evidence from the biblical texts themselves, such as the credibility of authors and consistency between accounts. Legal-historical evidence is explored through comparisons with historical documents from the same era. Various biblical narratives are also examined alongside current scientific explanations to argue they match medical knowledge at the time. The document advocates an approach considering oral tradition, written texts, and archaeological exhibits to assess the historical integrity of the biblical record.

Are we making a priority of our time with God?

What I Learned about Evangelism from a SalesmanChris Gallagher
This document discusses four lessons about evangelism that the author learned from a salesman. The lessons are: (1) some people will not be receptive no matter what you do; (2) some people will not participate at all; (3) perseverance is important as your message can reach some people over time; and (4) if you share your message widely enough, some people will be receptive to it. The document emphasizes having the right mindset and continuing to spread your message despite rejections or lack of interest from some.
The document discusses spiritual discipline and focusing on spiritual growth. It asks what the reader wants to do most spiritually, noting they should forget past mistakes and focus on spiritual goals ahead. It acknowledges that people can lose focus, then asks what might be stopping the reader from spiritual growth. It suggests finding and acting on spiritual excellence through meditation, as opposed to dwelling on past failures or distractions from spiritual progress.
Zig Ziglar has said, "Motivation is necessary; it is like bathing, highly recommended and needed daily." This year is no place to quit in our families. We must continue to strive for excellence in our actions and in our beliefs.
This document discusses the importance of passion in teaching and learning. It advocates using passion to secure students' hearts by hearing them, empowering them, cultivating their audacity, making lessons relevant, and telling their stories. Various quotes are provided to support pursuing passion and one's potential. The document promotes sharing resources on passion-driven teaching and learning through social media hashtags and searching for the authors' names and website.

This Father's Day, I decided to spend a little time on an outline tucked away in my Preaching Files. I am not sure where the thoughts of this outline came from because it was a basic outline, but take a moment to enjoy. (If you took part in the creation or if this outline is yours, please contact me.)
This lesson was presented at the conclusion of a series on Getting to Know God. A few of the Hebrew words for God were examined to gain insight into the characteristics of God and this lesson was designed to challenge the membership to practice them.
For 2013, my lessons are focus on the Four Pillars - God, Family, Work, Service. Each pillar is a foundation in our lives, but the greatest pillar is that of God.
This lessons seeks to help know the character of God and discover the blessings He provides.
This document outlines 7 habits of great teaching: 1) Make contact and establish common interests with students to peek their spiritual interest. 2) Do not move too quickly or condemn students unnecessarily, stick to the main issue and confront issues directly.
Heaven is described as a place of great joy, rest, peace, righteousness, glory and God. It is portrayed as our true home and where our hearts and treasures will ultimately lie. The document encourages running the race of life with endurance, laying aside what might slow us down, so that we may receive the prize of an imperishable wreath in heaven. Heaven is presented as a place we hope to see each other again after this life.
The document discusses 4 spiritual disciplines: understanding, moving self, thinking differently, and planning. It notes that understanding requires being willing, wanting it, and seeking it. Moving self means moving yourself out of the way according to Bible verses. Thinking differently involves thinking on things like Philippians 4:8 describes and being humble. Planning refers to the tower principle from Luke and involves counting the cost. The overall message is that spiritual growth involves these 4 disciplines of understanding, self-reflection, perspective, and intention.
This lesson was presented at the Gadsden Church of Christ as a result of the Supreme Court decision regarding same sex marriage.

The document provides guidance on how to become a person of prayer. It begins with Jesus' model prayer from the book of Matthew. It then defines prayer as communication with God where one requests things from God, praises God, and addresses God. It encourages meditating on God and prioritizing his word. It advises talking to God daily by sharing problems, thanks, and sins. It suggests connecting with God, daring to pray like Daniel, and praying thankfully, in difficult times, and encouraging others, as Paul did.
This lesson was presented at the Gadsden Church of Christ on March 15th to share the need to reach out to the world. Mathew 14:22-32 as the text. As Jesus reached out to a sinking Peter, we need to reach out to a troubled world.

This document discusses rising to challenges and standing firm in faith. It references several Bible verses about persevering in doing good works. It notes that Elijah stepped up to the challenge from men against God. Finally, it encourages standing fast in principles, getting in God's word, and removing weights and sin.
This lesson is based on the Armor of God spoekn by Paul in Ephesians 6:10-17. The importance is understanding the armor is not loaned, but owned. It must be put on before the battle rages on.
God's definition of good is conformity to his will in order to live with him eternally. Several verses in Romans chapter 8 qualify this, explaining that through the Holy Spirit, believers can realize God's goodness and strengthen their relationship with him. Specifically, the Spirit helps believers, intercedes for them, and those in Christ have God on their side. To experience God's goodness, one should be in Christ, focus their mind on spiritual things, communicate with God in prayer, and live according to his purpose.
This lesson was presented on February 15, 2015 as part of a series on Love. This specifically discusses the situation of the man who fell among robbers and asks the question if we are too busy in our world.
7 Effective Habits of Highly Effective ChristiansChris Gallagher
The document outlines seven habits of highly effective Christians: 1) make social contacts, 2) establish common interests, 3) peek spiritual interest, 4) don't go too far too quickly, 5) do not condemn, 6) stay on the main issue, and 7) confront directly. Each habit is accompanied by a brief explanation and biblical references. The habits are presented as effective strategies for Christians to have spiritual conversations based on Jesus' example in John 4.

The Success of 2014 is in the Power of Your HeartChris Gallagher
Planning for a coming year is an important part to success, be an important part of spiritual success as well. The greater question of planning is, "Who will you take with you?"
David gave his son Solomon final words of advice, challenging him to act responsibly, walk with God, and obey David's commands. A father shows love through discipline, and David disciplined Solomon out of love, just as the Scriptures instruct fathers to admonish their children using spiritual wisdom and knowledge to warn them against foolishness and temptation.
This lesson is the first lesson in the Men's Retreat. The lesson is designed to begin a discussion on setting goals and reaching for the future by changing our current outlook.
The pervasiveness of Lying in today's World.pptxniwres
In our interconnected world, lies weave through the fabric of society like hidden threads. We encounter them in politics, media, personal relationships, and even within ourselves. The prevalence of deception raises profound questions about truth, trust, and the human condition.
The Book of Revelation, filled with symbolic and apocalyptic imagery, presents one of its most striking visions in Revelation 9:3-12—the locust army. Understanding the significance of this locust army provides insight into the broader themes of divine judgment, protection, and the ultimate triumph of God’s will as depicted in Revelation.

Introduction
Mantra Yoga is an exact science. "Mananat trayate iti mantrah- by the Manana (constant thinking or recollection) of which one is protected or is released from the round of births and deaths, is Mantra." That is called Mantra by the meditation (Manana) on which the Jiva or the individual soul attains freedom from sin, enjoyment in heaven and final liberation, and by the aid of which it attains in full the fourfold fruit (Chaturvarga), i.e., Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha. A Mantra is so called because it is achieved by the mental process.
Lucid Dreaming: Understanding the Risks and Benefits
The ability to control one's dreams or for the dreamer to be aware that he or she is dreaming. This process, called lucid dreaming, has some potential risks as well as many fascinating benefits. However, many people are hesitant to try it initially for fear of the potential dangers. This article aims to clarify these concerns by exploring both the risks and benefits of lucid dreaming.
The Benefits of Lucid Dreaming
Lucid dreaming allows a person to take control of their dream world, helping them overcome their fears and eliminate nightmares. This technique is particularly useful for mental health. By taking control of their dreams, individuals can face challenging scenarios in a controlled environment, which can help reduce anxiety and increase self-confidence.
Addressing Common Concerns
Physical Harm in Dreams Lucid dreaming is fundamentally safe. In a lucid dream, everything is a creation of your mind. Therefore, nothing in the dream can physically harm you. Despite the vividness and realness of the dream experience, it remains entirely within your mental landscape, posing no physical danger.
Mental Health Risks Concerns about developing PTSD or other mental illnesses from lucid dreaming are unfounded. As soon as you wake up, it's clear that the events experienced in the dream were not real. On the contrary, lucid dreaming is often seen as a therapeutic tool for conditions like PTSD, as it allows individuals to reframe and manage their thoughts.
Potential Risks of Lucid Dreaming
While generally safe, lucid dreaming does come with a few risks as well:
Mixing Dream Memories with Reality Long-term lucid dreamers might occasionally confuse dream memories with real ones, creating false memories. This issue is rare and preventable by maintaining a dream journal and avoiding lucid dreaming about real-life people or places too frequently.
Escapism Using lucid dreaming to escape reality can be problematic if it interferes with your daily life. While it is sometimes beneficial to escape and relieve the stress of reality, relying on lucid dreaming for happiness can hinder personal growth and productivity.
Feeling Tired After Lucid Dreaming Some people report feeling tired after lucid dreaming. This tiredness is not due to the dreams themselves but often results from not getting enough sleep or using techniques that disrupt sleep patterns. Taking breaks and ensuring adequate sleep can prevent this.
Mental Exhaustion Lucid dreaming can be mentally taxing if practiced excessively without breaks. It’s important to balance lucid dreaming with regular sleep to avoid mental fatigue.
Lucid dreaming is safe and beneficial if done with caution. It has many benefits, such as overcoming fear and improving mental health, and minimal risks. There are many resources and tutorials available for those interested in trying it.

Astronism, Cosmism and Cosmodeism: the space religions espousing the doctrine...Cometan
This lecture created by Brandon Taylorian (aka Cometan) specially for the CESNUR Conference held Bordeaux in June 2024 provides a brief introduction to the legacy of religious and philosophical thought that Astronism emerges from, namely the discourse on transcension started assuredly by the Cosmists in Russia in the mid-to-late nineteenth century and then carried on and developed by Mordecai Nessyahu in Cosmodeism in the twentieth century. Cometan also then provides some detail on his story in founding Astronism in the early twenty-first century from 2013 along with details on the central Astronist doctrine of transcension. Finally, the lecture concludes with some contributions made by space religions and space philosophy and their influences on various cultural facets in art, literature and film.

Lição 12: João 15 a 17 – O Espírito Santo e a Oração Sacerdotal | 2° Trimestr...OmarBarrezueta1
