Over the past decade, the Bayat Foundation has supported maternal health initiatives in Afghanistan through three projects - donating beds and reconstructing the surgical maternity ward at Rabia Balkhi Hospital in 2014, supplying needed equipment like oxygen tanks to Indira Gandhi Hospital and supporting construction of ICUs and cardiac units, and opening a new 30-bed maternity hospital called Bibi Khairi Gul Hospital in an underdeveloped area in 2011.

2. Over the past decade, the Bayat Foundation has
supported a wide variety of maternal health care
initiatives in Afghanistan. Here is a look at three
projects undertaken by the foundation and its
partners:
Rabia Balkhi Hospital—In 2014, the Bayat
Foundation donated 10 brand-new beds to the
Rabia Balkhi Hospital maternal intensive care unit
(ICU). The foundation also financed the
reconstruction of the hospital’s surgical maternity
ward and supplied it with modern equipment and
medications.

3. Indira Gandhi Hospital—The Bayat Foundation recently
supplied the Indira Gandhi Hospital in Kabul with needed
equipment, including oxygen tanks and a medical vacuum
system. The foundation also supported the construction of
two new wards: the children’s ICU and the cardiac care
unit.
Bibi Khairi Gul Hospital—In 2011, the Bayat Foundation
opened a new, 30-bed maternity hospital in one of the
most underdeveloped areas in all of Afghanistan. The
hospital features modern operating rooms, delivery rooms,
patient rooms, and a complete electrical system.
