A black panther is a black colored variant of any Panthera species, including leopards in Asia and Africa, and jaguars in the Americas. Black panthers reach sexual maturity between ages 2-3, with females giving birth to up to 4 cubs after a 90-110 day gestation period but typically raising only 2 cubs to adulthood. The young can see at 2 weeks of age and stay with their mother for up to 2 years before establishing their own territory.
