WIRA is a community-based organization originally established to protect DoD assets from a BRAC realignment. Its mission is now to protect and grow federal and state investments in the region. It does this through quarterly meetings to hear project updates, a new newsletter, VIP events, and supporting STEM programs locally. WIRA has over 250 members and individuals and corporations can become members by contacting admin@wiralliance.org. The Triton UAS program at Wallops Flight Facility will bring over 400 jobs and $2 billion to the region over 20 years, leveraging previous state investments and creating opportunities for workforce development.
